Summer Programs
Skiers are made in the summer!
Did you know that BBNT runs programs all year long? Cross country skiers put in most of their training hours during the summer by running, hiking, mountain biking and rollerskiing. BBNT summer programs are built around the idea of developing a healthy and active lifestyle year-round.
Summer Devo
To participate in Summer Devo you must be going into 7th grade or older. This program is for new skiers and athletes transitioning from Youth Rec to Devo. No rollerskiing experience necessary!

2024 Schedule
Monday 7:30-9am | Run/mountain bike at Fort Boise or Camel’s Back. Bring a helmet, brightly colored t-shirt, ski boots (if you have them), a watch, snack, and water.
Wednesday 7:30-9am | Rollerski at Municipal Park or Esther Simplot Park. Weekly email will specify the activity. Bring water, a snack, and a watch.
Friday 7:30-9am | Run, hike, or mountain bike at at Fort Boise or Camel’s Back. Weekly email will specify the activity. Bring water, a snack, and a watch.
Summer Comp
To participate in Summer Comp you must be going into 9th grade or older.

Half Summer Comp: Has access to 3 practices/week. Must pay $50 processing fee per camp/trip

Comp practice will be held Monday through Friday from 7:30-9am.
Strength sessions will be Tues/Thurs afternoons from 2:30-4:30pm
Pricing Tiers
Summer Equipment Policy
Comp and returning Devo athletes must convert their personal poles to rollerski poles. BBNT will provide ferrules (special tips for roller skiing) and we will have a day this spring to help everyone switch tips over.
Everyone should have their own bounding poles as well. These should be about rib-height. Downhill poles are a great option, and you can either use some if you have them or find some cheap ones at Outdoor Exchange.
All Devo athletes can use BBNT rollerskis. Comp athletes are expected to own their own rollerskis (both skate and classic). Expect more info in April.
At different times through the summer we may take advantage of more exciting training opportunities and go a bit further afield (expect later finish time). These sorts of changes will be in the weekly email.
Summer Training Camps & Trips
We are using forms to sign up for all trips/camps going forward. Filling out the form does not commit you to a trip, but it does help us if we know general interest far in advance. You can sign up for multiple trips in the same form. +$50 Trip/Camp processing fee applies to athletes attending who aren’t signed up for summer or year-round training.
Bend Camp: May 24-29. This camp includes on snow skiing, running, hiking, rollerskiing, and mountain biking (optional). Open to all comp athletes and devo athletes with coach's discretion.
U15 Camp (Soldier Mountain): June 18-20. This is an introductory training camp with running, hiking, rollerskiing, camping, and fun! Available for skiers going into 6th grade up to 14 year olds.
Alpine Adventure Day (Sawtooth Mountains): July 10-11. This is a one night camping trip, and we will have a big adventure day in the mountains. Open to all comp athletes and devo athletes with coach's discretion.
August Camp (Location TBD): August 6-9. This camp includes running, rollerskiing, hiking, and fun! Open to all comp athletes and devo athletes with coach's discretion.
